Hi Iris!

How do you deliver medical training? Is it all web-based or do you train in person as well? Lately I've been designing learning specifically to set-up and follow-up on in person trainings. Especially when it's hard to meet with people over long distances or from remote places. I find it really helps to set up a meeting and make the most out of the limited time they have together. Anyway, welcome, let us know a little more about yourself.

Welcome Iris!

Keen to know how you deliver medical training, esp if its web-based..

@Ryan Hazen, do you use a web conferencing platform for the set-up and follow-up? I have also been thinking of the most effective ways of engaging distributed long distance learners to collaborate outside of curriculum. Would love to hear others experience in this.

We use blended learning in medical education. Course materials are on Moodle. I personally have converted lectures to videos and use face to face class time for more student-centric interactive activities.

Because medical education also means acquiring skills, it cannot be completely online. I am the director of the university's interactive learning center. As such, I conduct faculty workshops on learning management systems, creating teaching videos and the pedagogy behind edtech tools.

I work at a highly residential small college, so most of our education takes place in person as well. It sounds like we have similar responsibilities! Of course, there are no completely in-person classes anymore. All of our courses have an online component. In fact, a lot of the work we do in class are set up and completed online.
